A bird in the garden, a cat in the room is a joint exhibition by Tetsuro Kano and Adeline Kueh to foreground their site-specific works using mitate. Mitate as a concept that is deeply rooted in the Japanese context literally means looking closely to select something, or metaphorically express something using another, and refers to an aesthetic sense based on association or meaning that arouse from the said concept.
The catalogue was published on the occasion of the exhibition at the Japan Creative Centre.
